Måns vidare – Rednex ute
2008-02-17 (söndag)Schlagerpinglan: Den andra semifinalen av Rumäniens uttagning till Eurovision Song Contest är avgjord. Måns Zelmerlöws låt “Shine” fick flest av telerösterna och gick enkelt vidare till finalen.
För Rednex och låten “Railroad, railroad” gick det inte lika bra. Trots att de klarade en sjätteplats med hjälp av telerösterna så gav juryn dem så låga poäng att de halkade ner till en sjundeplats och missade därmed finalen.
Den 23:e februari är det dags för finalen och då ställs de tolv kvarvarande bidragen mot varandra. Trots att jag egentligen tycker att “Fairytale story” med Nicola är den bästa av dessa så håller jag naturligtvis några tummar även för svenskbidragen “Dr Frankenstein” (LaGaylia Frazier) och “Shine” (Biondo).
Om man inte bara ser till låten, utan även räknar in showen så är det dock LaGaylia som är min personliga favorit.

Oj, tänk att svenska artister tävlar för så många olika länder. Kan man lyssna på Måns bidrag någonstans?

Nästa lördag kommer den såkallade “super lördagen” i min mening, många länder bestämmer sina artister till eurovision poch svergie kan bli klar med 2 svenska artister till eurovision. lagaylia i rumänien och sandra i polen.

I am for Romania and I think that Biondo’s song is a gospell nightmare for everyone’s ears.
The rhytm-less song is quite ordinary until the end:
– it has an 80’s intro, with nothing special
– the verses are ordinary, there’s nothing you’ll remember after the song; the same metaphores with the ocean and the waves that are extremely common and quite childish
– the chorus is quite scary, it’s like a gospell song from US churches; the theme is almost religious, ‘Shine and I will never fall out of love’. Come on, this is not an ode to God!
– before the final part, the long-hair guy takes a homo-erotic look on the other one (by the way, where is the third one??), saying some “deep words” like “tomorrow’s here, I have no fear”. ?!!??
– the end is really scary, it is not at all pop music, it really scratches my tympanum, so don’t try this at home, especially you’re alone 🙂
Therefore, I highly recommend you Paula Seling’s song, which is a real love song and it has high chances to win

P.S. I am really sorry about Rednex and LaGaylia (she managed to qualify in the final, but her chances to win are almost zero). They were quite good with interesting approaches.
David: Det blir en intressant helg. Angående Dustin the Turkey vet jag inte om jag ska skratta eller gråta. På sätt och vis så tycker jag att det inte ska bli för mycket tramsbidrag, men för Irlands skull så är det kanske bra. Ställer de upp med en anonym, tråkig låt kommer de garanterat ej till finalen. Med kalkonen så kan det ju antingen bära eller brista.
Personligen kommer jag den helgen att heja på LaGaylia (Rumänien), Men Meadow (Polen) och BWO (Sverige).

Personally, I think “Fairytale story” with Nicola is much better than both “Shine” and “Seven days”.
Yes, actually Nicola has a very good interpretation and she succesfully represented Romania in 2003 with ‘Don’t break my heart’ song.
However, her chances are quite low, she was third in the yesterday’s semifinal and there is quite a high difference in points between Nicola and Biondo.

The last one is quite succesfull here as the tenors are quite appreciated in RO. Vlad reminds me of Andrea Bocelli, and he sings also in Italian.
Personally, I don’t like it. It’s a rhytm-less song 🙂

By the way, are these guys (Biondo) populars in Sweden. My work mate, who is originally from Stockholm told me he never heard of them 🙂
unique2: I don’t know anyone here in Sweden that knows anything about Biondo but everybody knows about Måns Zelmerlöw, who wrote Biondo’s song “Shine”. He’s a very popular singer here. 🙂
Va? Alla känner väl till Mattias Nilsson i Biondo från den svenska operascenen, men vem är Måns Z?
Ups: Jag menade “alla” i en väldigt förenklad mening. Allt beror ju på vad man har för intressen o.s.v. I schlagersammanhang så är dock inte Mattias Nilsson så välkänd av “alla”, men det kanske ändras nu. 🙂

Rednex are back in the Romanian final!
Catalin Josan decided to withdraw from the competition one of his songs, which determined the organizers to complete the list of 12 finalists with ‘Railroad, Railroad’, the song of Ro-Mania and Rednex. Yupeee!
They are my favourites, now! 🙂
